New Officer Nominations for 2022-2024 Term

We are excited to usher in some new talent to our club with our upcoming officer elections. These officers will serve a term of two years beginning January 31, 2022, and ending January 31, 2024. Below are the brief descriptions of each role, but please know that the current officers will help the new ones transition and learn the roles. 

We will be electing a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, High Point Chairperson, Webmaster, and a newly created Youth Ambassador position. 

The nomination form is below. Simply type in your nominee(s) and submit. You can nominate for one or all positions. 

Please note that current officers can only be nominated for a DIFFERENT role than the one they are currently serving in. All nominees will be notified of their nomination, and they will have the opportunity to accept or decline the nomination. If they decline, you will be notified as well so that you can nominate a new person.  

Nominations are due by January 18, 2022, prior to the banquet.  

President – Serves as the Organizer of the club, sets meetings, attends WDAA virtual meeting calls monthly, creates programs for the club, and liaisons between WDAA and WDAGA. Organizes and plans the annual Membership Banquet. The President should be someone experienced in Western Dressage with strong knowledge of the tests, competing, rules, etc.

Vice-President – Serves as the “right hand” to the President assisting in all functions. The VP should also be someone experienced in Western Dressage knowledge and competition rules. tests, etc.  This person typically organizes and coordinates the shindigs, playdays, and any clinics for the club.  

Secretary – Maintains the annual membership roster for WDAGA and WDAA. Completes the Annual Affiliation paperwork for WDAA. Maintains email communications for the club. Completes the annual insurance applications for the club. Provides waivers for all events and maintains records for the club. Manages all registrations for upcoming events (shindigs, banquets, etc). This person should be organized and detail-oriented and able to complete tasks on time. Knowledge of Excel and Word is essential.

Treasurer – Maintains the bank account and all financials for the club.  Provides an annual Profit & Loss statement to all members, WDAA, and to the club secretary for insurance applications. Accepts and manages all incoming funds and pays invoices as needed. This person should be organized and detail-oriented and able to complete tasks on time.  Knowledge of Excel and Word is essential.

High Point Chairperson – Maintains the WDAGA High Point program for Virtual and Live shows annually. Publishes the program rules annually.  Accepts all applications and point submissions for the program. Provides quarterly updates on results to the club secretary and Webmaster for publishing on social media and WDAGA website. Manages and orders awards for all winners to be given at the annual awards banquet. Ideally, this person is highly involved in showing but must be organized and have time to complete tasks quarterly.

Webmaster – Maintains our WDAGA website and all social media outlets (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc). Posts regular updates on ALL events happening within the club. This person must be technically agile and possess strong computer skills. Must have time to be active on our social media pages regularly.  

Youth Ambassador – This NEW position is being offered to any youth (age 18 or under) that is a current WDAA and WDAGA member. This role will be a learning opportunity for someone wanting to be more involved and have a voice for our up-and-coming youth riders. You will participate in officer meetings and have input about activities for WDAGA. The ideal person for this role needs to be a forward thinker and able to speak up on behalf of the youth in our club. You should be active on social media and create a network for our youth members to encourage involvement.  

Finally, on behalf of the current officers, I would like to thank each of you for your support and involvement over the last few years.  We have an amazing group of people here at WDAGA and other affiliates constantly ask how we have such an active club. It’s because of each of you that we are able to have such fun activities and grow together in our journey with Western Dressage. Thank you!!
